How Galvanization Protects Your Steel

The Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) process creates a metallurgical bond between zinc and steel, delivering a multi-layered defense system.

01
🛡️

Barrier Shield

A continuous, impermeable physical coating that blocks moisture and oxygen from reaching the steel.

02

Sacrificial Protection

Zinc sacrifices itself to corrode first if the surface is scratched, keeping the exposed steel rust-free.

03
🩹

Self-Healing

Zinc corrosion products naturally fill small nicks and scratches to maintain the protective seal.

04
📐

Edge Coverage

Ensures corners and edges receive a coating thickness equal to or greater than flat surfaces.

Coating Standards

Coating Mass & Finish Options

Select the zinc thickness based on your environment's corrosivity.

Z120 ASTM G40 Equivalent
Zinc Layer 120 g/m² (Double Side)
Protection Level Moderate / Indoor
Surface Spangle Regular / Minimum
● Light Duty

Ideal for home appliances, furniture components, and dry indoor ductwork.

Z275 ASTM G90 Equivalent
Zinc Layer 275 g/m² (Double Side)
Protection Level High / Outdoor
Surface Spangle Zero / Smooth
● Engineering Standard

The gold standard for solar mounting, roofing, and outdoor HVAC systems.

Workability

Fabrication & Tooling Capability

Our galvanized sheets are designed to withstand rigorous manufacturing processes without compromising the protective zinc integrity.

📐

Precision Bending

Excellent coating adhesion allows for 0T to 2T bending radii without any zinc peeling or flaking at the tension zone.

🎯

Punching & Shearing

High shear strength substrate ensures clean edges. The cathodic protection migrates to sheared edges to inhibit rust.

🗜️

Deep Drawing

Advanced hot-dip technology ensures the alloy layer is ductile enough for complex deep-drawing and stamping operations.

🔥

Spot Welding

Optimized surface conductivity facilitates consistent spot and seam welding results for automated assembly lines.

Technical Q&A

White Rust (Zinc Hydroxide) occurs when freshly galvanized steel is exposed to moisture in poorly ventilated conditions. To prevent this, ensure materials are stored in dry, well-ventilated areas and use spacers to allow airflow between stacked sheets. If it occurs, light white rust can typically be brushed off without affecting the long-term protection.
The lifespan depends on the corrosivity of the environment. In standard C3 (Urban/Industrial) environments, Z275 (G90) galvanized steel typically provides 20 to 50 years of maintenance-free service. In highly corrosive coastal areas (C5), the life expectancy may decrease, requiring additional top-coat painting for maximum durability.
Yes, but with precautions. Welding produces zinc oxide fumes, which can cause "Metal Fume Fever." Proper ventilation or respiratory protection is mandatory. Additionally, the heat destroys the zinc layer at the weld point; we recommend applying a zinc-rich cold galvanizing spray to the weld area post-fabrication to restore corrosion resistance.
For high-quality paint finishes, Zero Spangle (Smooth Finish) is highly recommended. It provides a uniform surface profile that ensures superior paint adhesion and a flawless aesthetic appearance, unlike Regular Spangle which can show the underlying crystal pattern through the paint.
